The Mission - Falls

Today's, tune Falls has that breathy South American flute/pan pipe sound, and it's presence is probably the main reason Brad thought to introduce me to The Mission: Original Soundtrack From The Motion Picture.

Unlike yesterday's clip, which includes sound and music in sync, this one features a variety of scenes from throughout The Mission over the music for the Falls scene.

There are definitely spoilers to the film here, and you see more than just Jeremy Irons. Co-star Robert de Niro makes an appearance, as does Liam Neeson, along with other actors beyond the Guarani that are perhaps the bulk of the cast.

One of the most amazing soundtracks (and movies!) ever made! I also love "Nella Fantasia" as originally written by Sarah Brightman based upon "Gabriel's Oboe." The Russel Watson version is also great, but Brightman gives it a slightly more ethereal sound that I prefer for this piece.

You know, I've listened to Eden dozens of times without realizing the tune Nella Fantasia was based on...

Sure, it sounded familiar, but I never realized why. Thanks for pointing that out!
