Jun. 28th, 2005 05:54 pmA few days ago I discovered that an old friend, Erika, is in a new band. She used to sing dark, gothic ethereal stuff with Autumn Tears and now she's doing power metal with Ignitor down in Texas.
Samples from both bands are available on their respective sites - for Autumn Tears, click on the track numbers on the left side of the screen; for Ignitor, click on Media and then Music Downloads.
Two very different vocal styles, one very talented woman!
I had known her for a little while, but didn't know she could sing. I worked with her husband (ex, I think), and they helped us move once, get our previous TV home, and helped us pack again for the move down to Pennsylvania. They were both into darker and heavier stuff than I had listened to, and introduced me to tons of stuff, especially through their friend's company, Dark Symphonies. One day R. handed me an unmarked CD - said it was a new band out of France (I think), and wanted to know what I thought of it. After I gave it glowing reviews, he admitted it was an early, pre-master copy of the first Autumn Tears release, performed by his wife and their friend.
