I like this idea - although I'm wondering what can be done with memory management (I still have nightmares from the days when people actually wanted Windows 3.1 or even Windows 95 installed, and after so many windows were open the system would choke and die - haven't tried that for a while, I wonder how many windows can be opened now? =)

Ever heard of Project Looking Glass?

Sun has been developing Project Looking Glass for quite some time, but the noise around it seems to be dieing off. Seems like a good idea, there's currently multiple project to make a 3D desktop, making use of everyones 3D accelerators that are normaly unused on a standard desktop.

Interesting. That certainly shows that some of the things I was concerned with can be addressed.

I'm willing to bet you could intergrate the spherical idea into that fairly easily.

Hmmm, I wonder if Nova has some code behind the idea?
