- cats:
In an effort to disprove the theory that "Dogs are smarter than cats because if you pull a cat's tail it will try to pull away in the other direction, but a dog will turn around and bite your hand" I managed to prove that, at the least, cats are smarter than people, and I had the flayed flesh to prove it. - cooking:
At some point, I might actually open up the restaurant I've been planning for years.
Cooking is only fun, however, if other people are around to eat it. When wife and kids are out and I'm home alone, cooking just doesn't happen. - folklore:
I like story (as noted below for number 8), and I like story with feel and character - stories from folklore have that charm, flow, tone, lessons, and/or imagery have that. I'm also interested in the elements of history, of tradition. - ignitor:
A friend once brought in a blank CD, said it was a new band from France. Turns out it was his wife Erika and their friend Ted, and it was their first Autumn Tears release. Ignitor is Erika's current band - a Texas based metal band, very different from the atmospheric soprano of Tears. - machine intelligence:
Ties in with interests in robotics and artificial intelligence - always been fascinated with the mechanical aspects - clockwork mechanisms, gears, and so on - as well as the computational side of things. - nature:
As I've said many times, I live in the woods, and I plant more trees. - poetry:
I lost count somewhere along the way, but I had something like 400 pieces a year or so ago - and I've written more over the past year than in the five years prior to that. I write in a single pass, without any editing beyond the moment. I feel poetry is like a snapshot, and I capture a glimpse of idea, thought, or whatever else happens to flow through to the keyboard.
I read very little poetry, limited to some classics, like Billy S's sonnets, and some by authors whose short stories I enjoy, as well as works by friends. - short stories:
In some ways, the opposite of the poetry - I read much, write little. I like stories that have the elements of poetry I mention above, stories with morals and lessons, stories that make me think, and stories that take me places. - the woods:
See number 6, above. - yoga:
Yoga has been one aspect of my homemade workout - along with Pilates, Qi Gong, Jeet Kune Do, along with a smattering of other bits and pieces. Need to get back to a regular practice...

and hmmmm...I'm the same way with my writing as you are with poetry ;) I write a lot but read not so much...I find it's dangerous for me to read too much when I'm writing, it gets in the way of my own writing voice...and I saw your poetry from the other day and I'm making a point to go back and read them ;) (haven't been around much lately)
have a great afternoon!
