Whatever are they going to do with such meager compensation for their efforts?

For the record, as the owner of a company, I do think the folks running the show should be paid more than the workers. However, I also think that things would go a lot nicer all around if a wee little bit of fiscal restraint was shown. I don't think a hard and fast rule ~ "the highest compensation is no more than twice the lowest compensation" or something ~ would be a good thing to legislate, but something like that might be a good thing to follow in spirit.
