and so you say
prepare to stand alone
i'm almost gone
and so i say
that i'm sure you will stay
don't leave me i want you by my side

when i say i love you
you say that i lie
when i want to hold you
you turn away

it's been a year
since you first said goodbye (this time)
and i don't know what to do
to make you change your mind

what good are words
that are never heard

and so we linger
together as we stand alone
with love almost gone
still we stay
even when we no longer know what to say
afraid to set fallen dreams aside
