Continuing the theme, but back to the ALW-penned tune, here's Sarah Brightman in the role that was written for her with Antonio Banderas as the phantom...
You have just made my Monday with this one. After hearing the bazillions of bastardizations of this piece that have recently become popular (the recent film version for example), hearing Sarah Brightman once again is a cold chill moment.
I also always thought that Michael Crawford was a bit over-rated since he slides his way to each note, and the Gerard Butler version made me want to cry an account of its inadequacy, so it was very nice to see someone else do this. I thought Antonio Banderas did quite a respectable job in this role. I saw Evita, in which he did very well, but I think this really highlighted his range.

And his Spanish accent is sexy.
