Aug. 8th, 2005 03:35 pmToday's lunch music provided by Roger Latzgo, billed as "Ethnic/EthnoFunkology," and seeming to focus mostly on stuff from in and around Prague, including a tune called "The Golem", at least one tune in Yiddish, a Gypsy tune, and a polkaesque tune or two. Pretty decent guitar playing, and a good voice, but nothing that really struck me.
Walking down to Volksplatz from Liederplatz with hot fish n' chips, Celtic iced tea, and an umbrella proved somewhat challenging.
Rain started pouring down while we ate, and I found myself watching the way the wall of trees and the not-so-distant garden looked in the rain. If I had had more time, I might have discovered a poem or three in the scene (and I still might, through some kind of delayed reaction, you never know...) but alas, I had to return to the office.
Despite the walk and the balancing act, I'll probably be doing it tomorrow as well - Seven Nations (alternative Celtic rock, I believe it was billed as) will be playing the Volksplatz at lunch tomorrow. I'll be going to Red Robin for a team lunch on Wednesday, and will miss a lunchtime performance of Seamus Kennedy - will have to try and catch him some other time this week or hope he returns for the Celtic Classic in the fall.
