Book Twenty-Four
Aug. 3rd, 2005 08:56 amBook #24: Good to Great: Why some companies make the leap... and others don't by Jim Collins
I read this slowly - technically, over a matter of years since I borrowed it from our divisional manager, but I did have to re-read that first chapter as it had been so long. Although, towards the end, advice is offered on how to put into practice such things that may bring about greatness to any endeavor, the book is slanted to the CEO level. As far as companies go, although some parts can apply to any level, the most telling advice that does apply to everyone is to move on and find the right place for you to fit in if your current company isn't it. This should be required reading for all upper management, although I'm sure many already think they're doing their best.
