A herd of hooved hoovers came through the back of the property earlier today...
And then Deb quietly said "Hello".
That one with its nose in the bird feeder practically ran down the path to see her, wagging its tail the whole way...
So someone's been "taming" them, and that's not good for any of the involved species...

Date: 2008-12-01 09:55 pm (UTC)I got to handfeed a fawn earlier this year - it was being rehabbed for release and not taming it was high on the list of rules (which was the only reason I didn't end up him and bringing him home with me - well that and they don't tend to stay small and cute for long!)

She backed off, stepping inside, so the deer stopped at the top of the back bank, about 40 feet away or so. I think if she had stayed out there, it would have come right down and up onto the back deck!
