coin of the realm
by Everett A Warren
May 28, 1999

hopes and dreams
our stock in trade
more powerful than
the almighty dollar
deutschmark
or yen
exchanged in the open market
earning interest in the bank
of the open mind
global amongst all the people
making those wealthy
who believe
and those poor
who doubt
a cash crop for the taking
and still the debtor's prisons
overflow

Wow!! I really like this!

You're a poet; maybe you can help me with some of my writings, if you don't mind. I haven't written any poems in a long time, but have thought about it recently. :-)

Thanks!

I'll be glad to read and offer feedback - I've got a couple of my short fiction pieces out there that are in the same situation (well, two short stories and the first third of a novella), in need of feedback.

I've nicknamed the novella MacBathory on account of a particularly not-quite-nice-and-sweet character. I had it locked for a small group to provide feedback, never heard anything from it, and opened it up to the world on the Pixel-Stained Technopeasant day.

The short story with the working title Full Moon Poetry does need a re-write, but I was holding off on further feedback. The link goes to the opening of it, I have the entirety under a filter - if you want to read and provide feedback on it, I'll add you to it.

I opened up Her Tears Tasted of the River Acheron for public consumption back in December, and arranged it with some photos of the actual locations that inspired the story. I felt it was a bit more solid than Full Moon Poetry, but I'd still like to hear what people think of it! =)
