A young frog goes into a bank and walks up to a teller. The teller has a small sign on her desk announcing her name is Patricia Whack.

The Teller says "I'm Patty, what can I do for you?"

"I'd like a $30,000 loan please for a holiday" asks the frog

"That's a lot of money" says the teller.

"That's ok Patty, my name is Kermit Jagger, I'm Mick Jagger's son and I know the bank manager"

"I'm afraid we'll still need some form of collateral" Patty responds.

The frog takes a small pink porcelain elephant out of his pocket and hands it to her "This will do"

"I'm afraid I'll have to check with the manager" and she goes to the office to talk to her manager.

"There's a frog outside who wants $30,000 for a holiday and gave me this as collateral" she hands the manager the porcelain elephant. "What is it" she asks.

"It's a knick-knack, Patty Whack, give the frog a loan, his old man is a Rolling Stone"

Heh. Torture all around!

See - read through the three pages of this comic, starting here, and you will see an example of what I think is High Art. The third page, especially, is a classic example. This had a great influence upon me when I first read it many, many moons ago.

=)

Ok...believe it or not, I've never heard of Phil and Dixie, but thanks to you, I got some good chuckles this morning from it, especially the third page. Very punny indeed. I wasn't into D&D so much, but had friends who were. I'll have to go back and read some more. Thank you!

Be sure to check out a newer old comic by Phil : Buck Godot - Zap Gun for Hire and the current one by Phil and his wife Kaja - Girl Genius.

Oh ow ow make it stop. I didn't see the punch line coming, even at the second-to-last paragraph.
