Welcome to Monday's Thirteen, the movie quote guessing game.

Answers will be screened, those who guess correctly will have their name listed with the quote as soon as I can. More than one person can claim a quote, so the movie's name won't be revealled until the weekend game-end.

On Wednesday, some additional hints will be posted for the Double Quotes. Check out last weeks Wednesday's Little Helper for some clues on the Triple Quotes - these guys have been hanging around since the pilot episode, and here I thought some of them would be dead giveaways. If any last until Wednesday, I will be mapping the hint to the quote. If any last until Friday, I might have to post an additional quote for each Triple Quoted movie - I want to make room for some new ones for next week!

As the original meme considered these "guesses", I'm surprised how few guesses there have been - most have been known outright. Feel free to post multiple guesses, like [livejournal.com profile] tewok does, and who knows, you might get one! =)

Triple Quotes
1. "Maybe I'm dreaming. My eyes are open, which means maybe I'm awake dreaming that I'm asleep. Or, or more likely, I'm asleep dreaming that I'm awake wondering if I'm dreaming." -- Ladyhawke, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] dreamingcrow, [livejournal.com profile] nea852

2. "Your Holiness, a surgeon to save the body must often hack off a limb. But in truth nothing could prepare me for the beauty and the power of the limb that I had come here to sever."

3. "She can sing, or she can scream. But she still pissed me off." -- Rock and Rule, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] the_dark_snack

4. "We eat when we're not hungry, drink when we're not thirsty. We buy what we don't need and throw away everything that's useful. Why sell a man what he wants? Sell him what he doesn't need. Pretend he's got eight legs and two stomachs and money to burn. It's wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong." -- The Mosquito Coast, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] feste_sylvain

5. "I've been trying to get you all night. Why don't you answer your fucking beeper?" "I just wanna tell you, Jack, that the next time I'm suspended, so is my fucking beeper!"

6. "Dying's the easy way out. You won't catch me dying. They'll have to kill me before I die!"

Double Quotes:
7. "Do you know how Florentine women ensure their husbands come home? Every morning they slip him a slow poison, and every evening the antidote. That way, when the husband spends the night away, he has a very bad night." -- Brotherhood of the Wolf, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] dreamingcrow, [livejournal.com profile] phantom_wolfboy

8. "If you'll notice the arterial nature of the blood coming from the hole in my head, you can assume that we're all having a real lousy day."

9. "You know some of you guys have some cute little asses. It'd be a real shame if I had to blow'em off." -- Streets of Fire, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] tewok

Single Quotes:
10. "But Mortimer, you're going to love me for my mind, too." "One thing at a time!" -- Arsenic and Old Lace, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] dreamingcrow

11. "It's as though we were made for each other. Beauty and the Beast. Of course, if anyone else calls you 'beast' I'll rip their lungs out." -- Batman, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] celticboy, [livejournal.com profile] malinaldarose, [livejournal.com profile] blackbyrd2

12. "I miss you like the sun misses the flower. Like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter. Instead of beauty to direct its light to the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has banished me to." -- A Knight's Tale, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] blackbyrd2, [livejournal.com profile] belgatherial, [livejournal.com profile] bookgirlwa

13. "Where I come from, we talk to our women. We do not drug them with plants." -- Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] malinaldarose

You're the only one who nailed #13 - although I thought you'd be the one to get #1. =)

I haven't seen Ladyhawke in years, otherwise I might have. It's not really one of my favorites, though I do enjoy Phillipe Gaston.

Ah! I thought it was in your favorites - didn't you use it in a quote game recently?

Ah, well, I use movies I've seen, not necessarily my favorites. That would limit the pool too much.

Heh. I'm not so familiar with that. I have too many favorites, some I don't even like so well! =)

I post multiple guesses because sometimes a single funny* answer won't suffice.

9, Shrek IV: The Donkey's Tale

10. Charlie McCarthy's Forest Food Tour

11. Charles and Di -- A Love Story (In His Words)

12. Alien vs. Predator VI: A Night at the Roxbury

13. American Pie 8: Computer Camp

* Where "funny" == "dumb".

Because all of this are, unfortunately, wrong (no matter how fitting they might be), I think I can safely unscreen this before the game is over. =)

Just FYI - you should be getting a slightly more accurate answer for #9 - I know you've seen it! =)

I know I've seen #9, I just can't place it. I refuse to google or imdb for it. That's cheating.

1. Ladyhawke! For some reason, I couldn't remember it previously.

7. Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le Pacte des Loupes)

10. Arsenic and Old Lace

Yeah, #1 took a lot longer than I expected - I figured that one would have been snapped up right away when I first posted it.

Good job on #7!

I'm amazed you were the only one who got #10 - even though at least one other person who guessed titles for this edition posted a different quote from the film in their own version of the meme! =)

I still suck, but...

4 *might* be that movie about the $100 computer. Called something like "How to make your first million before breakfast"??

12 is A Knight's Tale. :)

And 10 and 13 are both familiar, but I can't place them...

And #4 wasn't quite close!

His attribution of the first triple quote to GWBush was

Okay, I know number 7 is The Brotherhood of the Wolf/Le Pact des Loups.

Number 11 is so familiar, but I just can't remember what it actually is.

I adore that film. I've got a bootleg VHS copy of it but I need a DVD of it. I wish I could get ahold of the soundtrack it's so beautiful.
