California Dreaming...
May. 25th, 2007 12:56 pmHey, California folks!
More specifically, Santa Cruz area folks!
Go here for your landscaping needs: Terra Nova Landscaping
Can't beat maintenance crews that ride bikes with carts, sustainable materials, water cache systems, and, topping it all off, chai mulch!
If you aren't in that area you should still check out their site. Interesting stuff. After reading up on what Terra Nova is doing, call your local landscapers - particularly those two big national brands (you know, one sounds like 'Rotts' and the other tries to stay Tru to the spirit of toxicology...) - and ask what they are doing to take similar steps, and, if not, why aren't they posting disclaimers about how harmful to the environment they really are? =)

Wishful Thinking
Date: 2007-05-25 10:12 pm (UTC)The Terra Nova site is interesting even when one doesn't have a yard or garden.
There is a lawn builder ad showing a gorgeous weed free lawn -- the stuff kills 'em dead -- along with a family lolling & playing and the Dad proclaiming he even has grass stains again. I wonder how safe the product really is.
