On the last Saturday of May, we'll be hosting our Musical Day Cookout.

Here be the official signup sheet. =)

The menu will most likely be traditional cookout fare. Salads, desserts, chips, drinks, and so forth will be up to you! Post here with what you'll be bringing.

The musical portion of the day will involve all manner of acoustic instruments depending on who comes and what instruments they bring - pianists, harpsichordists, and organists, no need to worry about lugging out your portable baby grand or pipe organ console, bellows, and piiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeepsssssss, Justin's keyboard will monopolize the electrical supply and will be available. The purpose is fun, so no worries if you don't have one or more songs on the Top 40 and have yet to be featured on the front cover of Modern Ocarinist magazine (or whatever the appropriate journal for your instrument might be).

Saturday, May 26 - grill ignited @ 1pm (earlier if crowds demand it!)

  • [livejournal.com profile] pete_wisdom & mom (tentative) - unspecified food - "off-key bargain-countertenor"
  • [livejournal.com profile] tewok & Jo - something chocolate - piiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeepssssss? harp? concertina?
  • [livejournal.com profile] jenjiyana & [livejournal.com profile] wintermorte & Prof. X - eggplant balls - triangle & baby rattle
  • [livejournal.com profile] 1jadedhart & Jefferey- pasta salad of some kind - comb kazoo & guitar
  • [livejournal.com profile] dragonflypug & Aaron - something - guitar
  • [livejournal.com profile] noone234 - (help Chris decide - see comments!) - sax & electric kazoo (unplugged? =)

I think Im bringing eggplant balls for the crowds culinary pleasure (unless you need a dessert). And perhaps the triangle and a baby rattle for musical delights. Ok well, I can't actually play the triangle or anything else. I will be the enthusiastic clapper.

Sorry about that, meant to add it to the list - I talked with Al and he said Global Warming would be coming and would be bringing along a desert.

Chris will be there.

I'll pack my sax and electric kazoo. Hope you have an amp.

Help me decide what food to bring.
Bacon-wrapped shrimp with Asian BBQ sauce?
Marshmallow ambrosia?

Justin voted for the first because he thinks it sounds better, Deb voted for the second because she thinks it's cheaper and easier to make. I'll be the tie breaker and vote "Yes" - which means you'll have to wait and see if anyone else offers up an opinion! =)

ambrosia it is

Oh, you're one of those "yes" people. That's very positive. Very well, the voices in my head have cast their vote. I will bring ambrosia, instead of subjecting you to my food experiment.

You'll really miss the shrimp appetizers. Bacon-wrapped, with a slice of juicy pineapple, toasted coconut for texture. And the best sauce you have ever tasted, brings it all together. Hahahaha. This is good. Give me time to perfect the recipe. It will be better for a dinner than a cookout.

My vote was yes to both, though! =)
