Sahara

This was a fun action movie, somewhere between the James Bond and Indiana Jones schools. The series of books that it's based on is on the caliber of a male rendition of a Harlequin romance.

I didn't come into this with expectations of high cinema, just some straight-forward entertainment, and thus I was quite satisfied. There are some social echoes - war: bad; pollution: bad - but it doesn't go so deeply that it seems as if it's supposed to be anything but an action movie.

I also didn't have high expectations for this movie, but I found I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Same here. I've read everything in that series, and didn't even have that many nitpicks come up over changes. And they blowed stuff up real good :)
