Book the Second
Feb. 11th, 2005 09:00 amBook #2:Loamhedge by Brian Jacques
Finished this last night, and found it as enjoyable as any of the rest of the series. Sure, it's formulaic, but it's fun. The quest, the siege, the riddles, the songs, the accents, the vermin, the Dibbuns, and, especially, the food. Don't read descriptions of the feasts - inedible as some may be to us non-woodland folks - on anything but a full stomach. A very enjoyable, quick read, with a strong homey, feel-good touch.
