silence
at the fall
of a thousand dreams
wordless
from the sky
they scream
for where
can the strength be
when their bonds are broken

is there
a tomorrow
when all the yesterdays
have fled
in isolation
a dark maze
of paths
where choice becomes
the unguided way of chance

withering
in the realm
of malignant shadows
looking
for no hope
and finding
it exists
so taken by dark desire
and the emptiness inside

leave me
not alone
with only my sorrows
to keep
my counsel
and nothing
to dream
only memories that linger
like shadows dancing in effigy
