Amaranth

Anyone ever eat anything made with amaranth grain (ground into flour, cooked like popcorn, etc.) or tasted the leaves?

I'm thinking about picking up some of the grain to try, if the local health food store has it. I'm also considering the possibility of setting aside about 44 square feet or so to grow it (which, theoretically, should give me about a pound of seed, not to mention the leaves to add to salads).

Justin, Rachel, and I set the second step on the back bank. This one went much easier, although I say that because while Justin was digging, I was finishing off the fertilizer. The rest are smaller, so should be even simpler. We might even be able to get two or more done on the next day - after supper, the sun is already on the horizon, so we lose light at the outset.
