So last night, just before bed, I was walking Justin through a sun salutation - trying to recall exactly what order different moves went in. He touches toes, and he stretches up and back - something we do 12 times a day, three days a week. I start telling him how to go down into the next position, and he goes down. Boom. Lands on his face and nose. Looks like he was punched. Said he got dizzy. Looked like he was goofing off, flopping around like he did when he was a toddler.

So this evening, as I pulled into our neighborhood, I had a coughing fit. Vision went pins-and-needly, white noisish around the edges, leaving a color-shifted oval that got smaller and smaller. Everything seemed to slow down. Not sure if the car actually did or not. Before the car straightened out, vision was back.

You shouldn't be driving.

If it's carbon monoxide, you need to find the leak and fix it.

Whether it was that, or just a bad coughing fit, you were moments away from passing out. This is not a good thing while operating a motor vehicle. When I say moments, I'm speaking fractions of a second.

Don't do that again.

I don't think it was CO, as the coughing fits have headed in that direction before - this was just the worst, and at a critical moment.

Going from standing forward bend (touching toes) to upward salute (standing upright arms up) often makes people feel dizzy. I have low blood pressure and would not be able to do that. I always have to go through fierce pose first. Tadottanulllola

What gets me is that forward bend, stand, arch-back exercise has been one of the core parts of this and previous workouts, so it was a complete surprise. It wasn't like he was trying anything new...

So, the next time a coughing fit begins, you will pull over and stop the car immediately?

more ancient medical history: Long ago, when you were small, we used to go to market on Lexington St. which meant riding home via Trapelo Rd. I got dizzy with you & Dan in car and had to stop for maybe 5-10 min. till I felt ok. It was a low bld pressure attack, I was told, and for a year or so I would have them every now and then. They stopped after pressure meds were changed.

J. having a dizzy spell is even more scary for he is kinda young. Of course, you will both see dr. ASAP, right? Yuh, sure. But please check today for CO leaks in car or else do not use the heater and keep all windows open a bit, okay?

That cough you heard on the phone last night almost went the same way - I've had several before and since that have done that (in the car, at work, and at home.) That just happened to be at the worst time - it kicked in mid-turn & mid-intersection, without warning, so pulling over wasn't really an option.

Before that (i.e. Fri-Mon), they'd just trigger really bad headaches.
