On the Road Again
Feb. 26th, 2006 03:53 pmWell, almost.
I dropped Justin and
patrixa off at the Boston Opera House, and then headed over to Harvard Square.
Noted on the walk to Newbury Comics that it wasn't *that* cold, because all the puddles were, without a bit of anything colder and nearly or actually ice.
Stopped off in the Million Year Picnic, just on the off chance they had the first Girl Genius hardcover (they didn't,) and then headed over to The Garage, wherein Newbury Comics is located, except it's no longer in the same place where I left it many, many moons ago. Seems to have jumped across The Garage on a diagonal. And Pandemonium Books seems to have relocated from further down the street to the top of the ramp - actually, more like they were in the progress of moving, rather than having done so. Boxes everywhere, a handful of folks within, and a closed sign on the door. Oh well. Any thoughts of wandering around further - after spending less than one of the two hours allegedly allotted to me by the Cambridge parking folks - were cut short when I realized that, lo and behold, the puddles weren't any longer, and ice had somehow convinced any wet content to go elsewhere so that I (along with everyone else) could slip and slide. Bitter cold walking into the wind back down Mt. Auburn to the car (which was very nearly at the hospital.) Decided to head back to the house to await the call, and at least be a little warmer. May head out again in a half hour or so just so I don't make them wait as long for a ride.
Once I pick them up, we'll be filling the tank, loading up the car, and then hitting the road.

Date: 2006-02-27 06:39 am (UTC)When I saw them in The Garage I had a distant nagging memory that they had moved there a while ago, but I wasn't sure.
Probably ten years or more since I was actually in The Garage.
