A bit of poetry about my front yard - although, to be honest, the hemlock in question was about 7" tall at the time, and the meadow had yet to be planted - posted because
gwynraven got me thinking about hemlock...
Wildflowers and Hemlock: A Storybook Romance
August 15, 2004
sweet perfumed airs
from flowers' colourful lips
lingering over the grasslands
unwavering in the fiercest winds
dark and mysterious her lover
in aromatic evergreen apparel
noble and majestic
standing tall beside her
she teases and she flirts
but always she stays true to their roots
strong and silent he shelters many in his arms
but his heart is for her alone
throughout time their romance
blossoms and shows
ever changing, always constant
together they grow

can I make a hard copy of this? I'm thinking hand-written, not printed.

Date: 2006-02-21 07:38 am (UTC)Two completely different creatures! The hemlock of philosopher-poisoning fame is a biennial herb that might reach 10 feet tall if it's lucky, where the hemlock of this tale is a non-toxic coniferous tree that can reach 114-167 feet tall. =)
You can make a copy - printed or hand-written - for your own use.
Glad you like it!
