Pre-Holiday Party #1
Nov. 19th, 2005 05:23 pmTonight is really more of a working party, the pre-meeting of the holiday season meeting, as it were.
A bunch of Deb's family is coming over. Deb's sister Pat, along with Justin and me, will be ensuring that everyone gets stuffed pre-Turkey Day. Pat made two big freakin' lasagna, and Justin and I made up a pan and a half of stuffed shells. We'll be accompanying those cheesy-type foods with a simple lettuce salad.
Then the business starts!
Names will be drawn, in a tradition that started last year, and those names will ensure everyone doesn't have to buy a gift for everyone else, at least kid-wise. Makes things a bit more affordable for those who can't, which is most everyone these days.
Then, I expect, card playing will ensue.
Tomorrow will be a birding expotitionTM followed by a dinner party for a much smaller group of friends (not stinky family types!1), with Bacon Wrapped Catfish, and Build-Yer-Own Baked Potato for the menu.
Anywho, more folks arriving, so I have to go get everything ready!

Having a cup o' Stash green-tea chai and watching the kids (or at least the 3 teenage/1 pre-teen boys) playing video games.

Date: 2005-11-19 05:31 pm (UTC)That is a lovely holiday tradition. It adds some more zest to Thanksgiving as well. I'm going to make sure I do something like that for my family.
And yum! for the food fixins.
