Today's tune combines some other tunes that may be familiar...

Via crazylegs on BGG, in response to the clip Pixels, which I posted the other day, there as well as here... (if you missed it yesterday, and you have any love at all for things like Pong, Space Invaders, Tetris, and so on and so forth, go back and watch it now!)

(aka Awesomeness, in this case)

Via the birthday boy himself...

Today's tune is from the band Saor Patrol, off their 2006 album, Full Throttle:

Here's some fingerpicking acoustic guitar... and a tune that just might be familiar to some of you:

Today's tune is a nice slow blues piece, House Of Broken Love, from their 1989 album ...Twice Shy.

Today's tune is My Song for You from her 2009 album Windows:

She has one of the best voices I've heard ~ here, in something soul-tinged, or in the soprano I've heard her sing in operatic choral parts backing up symphonic metal and power metal bands.

Today's tune comes from Lisa's 1989 album She:

Today's tune is off of Dalbello's 1995 album whore.

Since I don't have a link to spiff this up, instead I'll stuff it with trivia:

Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) was one of two drummers on this album (if he's on this track, he is playing exceptionally more restrained than I'm used to hearing him).

Lisa has written or co-written songs for Heart, Julian Lennon, Nena, Patti LaBelle, and has co-written tunes with Bryan Adams, Chaka Khan, and Branford Marsalis (amongst others).

If you watch the Sailor Moon TV series, you've heard her voice coming out of the mouth of multiple characters.

She's appeared as a guest artist, singing lead vocals on a track from Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson's solo album and performing duets with Duran Duran's John Taylor and Boz Scaggs. She's also performed on albums by Cher, Heart, Alice Cooper, Patti LaBelle, Tota, Nena, Richard Marx, and Glass Tiger.

In addition to the Queensryche cover of Gonna Get Close to You, her tunes have been covered by Heart, Hauteville, Heaven's Gate, and Helix (apparently bands alphabetically listed under "H" like her stuff). Melissa Manchester and Julie Masse also covered her tunes, adding a couple of M's (although Julie is Mrs. Corey "Sunglasses at Night" Hart, so there is an "H" connection there...)

Anyway, if none of these bits of trivia have your interest and you still haven't checked out any of Lisa's stuff from the last couple days, you should give this a listen if you enjoy listening to powerful female vocals that roam around in the realm of rock and soul with a touch of prog (or, at least, eccentricity) ~ artists such as Kate Bush or Annie Lennox come to mind.

They did the old "embedding disabled" trick with the video I was going to use as a lead-in to this one... Queensryche's Gonna Get Close To You from 1986... so, without further ado, here's the original tune, as performed by Lisa Dalbello on her 1984 album, Whomanfoursays:

Today, we have Michael singing on a track from Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki's 2002 solo album, Hymn to Life.

Here is the Key to the universe:

Today's tune is one of Michael's tunes from Helloween, You Always Walk Alone, as found on his 2008 album Past in Different Ways. As the name indicates, these are reworkings of earlier tunes, and they are all done in a much mellower (generally unplugged) style.

Back to Helloween, in a way.

Here's a track from Michael's first solo album, 1995's Instant Clarity...

Today's tune (after attempting to promote several tunes WMG/BMG don't want you to hear because they own them na na na na na!) is Badlands from the 1989 album Blessing in Disguise:

These are... interesting... not so much funny, but there you go. I'm not in the most jovial of moods anywho...

... proving once and for all that anyone can play guitar...

... okay, so this one has some "embellishments" and that adds an element of the funny...

... or is it that a guitar in hand is worth two or four or a dozen for the birds...
