Justin and I will never be car radio thieves.

After much struggling, however, we did manage to get the Alpine out of the Taurus, undamaged. We were fishing after a wire, pulled the glovebox out, yanked it from the inside firewall, and couldn't figure out how Circuit City managed to get it in there with all that existing wiring in the way. Turns out they didn't - it was Ford who did that part. After much struggling and bloodletting, I turned back to the radio and unplugged the wire. Got the factory radio back in, and it might actually work. The car, however, will be donated to the township volunteer firemen, if they want to play with it. Otherwise, first come first serve, we'll be calling the junk yards to take it away.

Built a fire in the firepit - couple of good sized birch logs from the fallen tree kept it going. We had lunch around it - maple sausages, dipped in maple syrup, complemented with a cup of Celestial Seasonings Ginsing Plus tea. Nice touch on a cold day. Later on, we fired up a few marshmallows. Rachel kept going on about how this was her best day ever.

Supper will be excellent - Deb made pizzas! I've got a sun-dried tomato & pepperoni; Deb has pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and onion; Justin has a pepperoni and mushroom (maybe sausage, too); Rachel went with deep dish plain cheese; and Brandon is eating the last Joe Corbi Bacon mini. Yum!

hehehe i had showed my husband your reply to my inquiry about what's wrong with the car. He just lookd me and said, totally deadpan, "tell him we'll take it..if he throws in 2 horses to pull it."

sorry... i thought it was funny...

Hmmm... there are horses across the street (read: The Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike), but they might not like it if I borrowed two...

Apparently, my wife's cousin's husband (is there any better shorthand for that?) really would like it - his volunteer fire company hasn't burned a car in an awfully long time.

Only thing now is the logistics in getting a car with iffy breaks, no license plate or registration, down to the other side of Blue Mountain...

If not, we'll check with our local guys, they're just down the road, and that's as far as I'd be willing to want someone to drive this thing.
