The fact that even the Washington Times ran an editorial critical of Bush says something.

We can hope.

Gods know the US media is in desperate need of a spine. I do wish the Dems would grow one, too..

It would be even better if we voted for people who were capable of making decisions - not for a specific all-or-nothing party line - and those people looked to their constituents for opinions on how they should vote on each issue.

That's kind of the concept created by having someone serve as a representitive of a group of individual voters - if people like how you vote, you keep the job; one too many disagreements and someone else gets in there to properly represent the popular opinion.

The binary political system just simplifies things too far, and isn't the way this country was designed to work.

Bear with me.

Would a democrat have done better? The very nature of a bureaucracy forbids creativity. We need people thinking outside the box. Smashing through complacency. This is a systemic problem and I'm not sure any of our politicians, or gods help us, news media, can step up to it.

I am horrified and sickened. I feel guilty. I'm shocked at what shocked me. I'm part of this problem.

And, we will just see about that.
