Judas Priest - Run of the Mill
Jun. 6th, 2009 08:56 pmHere's another tune off of Priest's first album, Rocka Rolla
that also makes an appearance on Hero, Hero
.
This has an excellent example of what I consider an ideal guitar solo... it moves through several stages of intensity, but, most importantly to me, has a spacey bluesy noodling sound...
In comments to one of the earlier Priest tunes, I mentioned that I considered their second album, Sad Wings of Destiny
one of the best albums of all time, but, if I had to pick only one album it would be Hero, Hero ~ mostly because it's a combination of Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings..., with all but a few of the tunes on it.
Yes, that's right... me, who can't pick a favorite this or favorite that... I'm going on record to say: Hero, Hero
is the best album in the entire freakin' universe.
If you haven't watched any of the Priest videos I've been posting because you've heard You've Got Another Thing Comin'
and it's all loud and metal and you don't listen to that stuff... you really need to listen to this.
Of course, then you can go back and listen to the other tunes, because I'm posting stuff that is, at the least, on the mellow side of metal. =)
