Happy Holidays!
Dec. 24th, 2008 11:13 amSince 1991, with a few years off for bad behavior, I've been writing poems for our holiday cards.
Since 2003,
aequitaslevitas and Rachel have been writing poems as well, and we've included them as an insert in our holiday card mailings under the title of Poetry for the Winter Season, with the subtitle of Warm Winter Words from the Warrens.
This year was no different, and Warm Winter Words from the Warrens Volume VI was finalized mid-November. Instead of having one or more poems from each of the three of us, this year's edition has one poem of nine stanzas, or nine little poem bits... it can be read as three rows of three stanzas, left to right and top to bottom or it can be read as three columns, top to bottom and left to right. It can probably be read other ways, but those are the patterns we came up with. =)
Unlike prior years, we were not able to package the poem and cards up and get them out to the hundred or so folks on our list, and I did not make a Get-A-Card post to add all you great folks on to the list (or update addresses of those on the list). I had debated emailing the card - as a PDF - out to everyone, and putting up a post to collect e-mail addresses of those who wanted a copy, but then I realized I had a way to get the poem(s) out to everyone quickly and easily: by posting the PDF on the company website!
So here it is, in lieu of a printed copy inside a handmade card (and in hopes that I'll get plenty of work next year so that we'll be able to send out cards!)

Peace, love, and good happiness!
