ellyssianI relented: Rachel will attend public school.
She wants to, and I can't argue that. Despite all that, she is very apprehensive - keeps asking me what school is like. She had attended a pre-school when we lived down in Bethlehem, but that was very closely half her life ago.
Rachel is very much a free spirit, so her biggest issue will be taking direction and restraining herself a bit. I've tried to focus on this aspect, while reassuring her that she'll do great in others.
There was some concern by the staff that she'd be the youngest in her class - although likely by a matter of months in some cases, and most probably within six months of half the kids - but she doesn't seem concerned. After all, she says, someone has to be the youngest, and, as she told the principal and/or counselor, she'd rather be the youngest than bored because she wasn't learning anything.
