Rory Block - Crossroad Blues

Well, with some of the recent tunes I haven't been able to provide links so you can go buy stuff. I make up for it on this one. =)

We're still with Robert Johnson's tune Crossroad Blues, and, although we'll keep up the theme of the crossroads a wee bit longer, this is the last time we'll here the tune itself - if you want to check out Johnson's original or Clapton's famous cover, you'll have to search for 'em!

Here we have Rory Block showing what you can do with the song with a back-to-basics acoustic guitar (non-dobro, non-resonator). She also shows that you don't have to be a guy to sing the blues.

Here's Rory with the Crossroad Blues - I believe this clip comes from the Guitar Artistry of Rory Block Country Blues Guitar DVD, but that's just an educated guess:

She recorded and released the song on her album High Heeled Blues ( album, individual MP3 ) and also included it on Best Blues & Originals ( album, MP3 ). See? Lots of links this time! =)
