This tune can be found on the increasingly nice two disc set, a Very Nice Album (Amazon.com).

The tune is, out of all the ones I've selected, perhaps the most classically flavored for the first couple of minutes, and then jumps into the jazziest of jazz trio type stuff.

Good music.

I dug the classicalesque stuff, and I was quite impressed by the electric violin. Then the jazz happened, and I got lost. I have no comprehension of contemporary jazz. Big band? Yes. Swing? Yes. Blues? Yes. Jazz? Huh?

With the jazz trio sound at the core of this tune, I thought it had with the exception of the violin, a more traditional sound. That trio swings right through almost the entire 2nd third of the piece before the violin comes back in to the foreground.

I've got some great jazz trios coming up later on down the line... the blues are coming up on Tuesday, though! =)
