Book Twenty-Three
Jun. 23rd, 2005 07:14 pmBook #23: The Count of Monte-Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Very interesting - I've read a seriously hacked kids version a long time ago and I've seen at least one film, but this was the first time I actually read something (possibly) closer to what Dumas intended. The entire threads running around the slaves was entirely knew - obviously that was scrubbed squeaky clean before being presented to wider audiences - but that wound up having such a significance as to completely change the ending from what I had expected.
