1.How old were you in 1980? See next question, do the math. Doh.

2. How old were you in 1989? 19 or 20, depending on when in the year you asked me.

3. Were you a Toys R' US Kid? Not so much. It didn't exist until I no longer considered myself a kid. We had Child's World which was about 74,000 times better. By the time Toys R' Us came into prominence, I spent most of my holiday monies on music.

4. Did you watch Transformers? No, it was a kids show.

5. Did you see E.T. on the big screen? Yes

6. Did you own a Lite Bright? I don't think so. Maybe?

7. Who is your Favorite Golden Girl? Not applicable.

8. When someone says "Who you gonna call?" You either join in and chant "Ghostbusters!" or look at them and shake your head.

9. What was your favorite toy(s)? In the eighties? Lego & GI Joe in the early years, my guitar through the rest.

10. Did you have a Pogo Ball? No.

11. Did you listen to New Kids on the Block? Only long enough to change the channel.

12. What New Kid did you have a crush on? In the late eighties, I drove my bass player past their house so he could spit in their general direction. The brothers Knight used to beat him up when they were kids. I also assisted in throwing one of them out of a club on Lansdowne Street. He wasn't any trouble. His bodyguard, on the other hand, took more of an effort.

13. Did you play M.A.S.H? No.

14. Did you watch The Care Bears? Not at all.

15. Did you have Jelly bracelets? No. I do have some black auto gasket ones that Deb gave me when we first started dating.

16. Did you have a charm necklace and/or bracelet? No.

17. Did you have a Glo Worm? No.

18. Did you ever own a slap bracelet? Yes. They still make them now, despite all the slit wrists that resulted from slapping them on with abandon.

19. The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles? Breakfast Club.

20. Did you have a crazy hair style? Depends who you ask.

21. What was your first bike? Blue Schwinn. The Fuji's came later.

22. Name one thing you still own from your childhood: A skier sculpture made by a friend of my dad's - it's sitting on my desk.

23. Did you have a Cabbage Patch Kid? No. After my time.

24. Did you dress like Madonna? No, but I did have exactly one picture of her, scantily clad, up on my wall.

25. Rainbow Brite or Strawberry Shortcake? Clearly, this is the version of the meme for girls in the eighties. Why yes, I am answering questions backwards.

26. Did you watch Miami Vice? No

27. Did you own a pair of Jelly Shoes? I despised them. That, and they're a bit feminine, don't you think?

28. Did you own a Trapper Keeper? Maybe.

29. Atari or Nintendo? Atari.

30. Did you play Pac-Man? Yes.

31. Which was better: He-Man or She-Ra? MTV.

32. What movie scared you the most? A particular instance of Lost Boys, when something very largeish bumped into every window on the second story. Which really had little to do with the movie itself, which is not scary.

33. Did you try to dance like Michael Jackson? No, I played guitar.

34. What Is The First Thing That Comes To Mind When You Hear "Flux Capacitor"? Stainless steel.

35. What other colors did Pepsi come in? Unimportant. Coke is it.

36.Roger Rabbit Or Howard The Duck? Roger Rabbit. P-p-p-p-p-p-p-pleez?

37. Did you ever beg your parents to have your school picture taken with the 'LASER' background? Don't think I had a choice.

38. Do you know what the Ninja Rap is? I imagine it had to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If it did - or didn't - I have no idea what it contains.

39. Do you know why people cringe when they hear the word BUCKNER? No.

40. Can you name the family members from National Lampoons Vacation movies? No, not even Chevy's character, although I'd likely recognize them instantly if I heard them.

41. Wally-World or Europe? Wally-World.

42. What was your favorite movie from the 80's? Lost Boys. Streets of Fire. Eddie and the Cruisers. Labyrinth. Legend. Ladyhawke. One of them, probably.

#39 refers to the 1986 World Series, which the Red Sox should have sewn up in Game 6, and the last out should have been Mookie Wilson's ground ball to first, but it squirted in between Bill Buckner's legs.

I understand that Mets fans exist, and even respect them most of the time; good Mets fans know not to mention either Buckner nor Mookie's name in the presence of a Red Sox fan. We far prefer to unite in our hatred of the Yankees than quibble with each other.

Not only is the meme for girls, it's for females younger than I was in the '80s. I suppose I could say my '80s toys were the CD player and VCR I bought in 1984. They were big investments then. :)

Ah. That explains it. In 1986 I may have paid a bit of attention to the Pats, but I had pretty much ignored even the Celtics by that time. I didn't really pay attention to the Bruins until the early nineties. And the Sox, well, I sat through an agonizing 746 inning game vs. the Yankees - probably in 1983-1984 timeframe? Hell, maybe even in the seventies - and that put me off baseball for good.
