Nearly everyone at the Labor Day cookout asked when what was next, and those that didn't asked what was next when. Here's the remainder of the planned schedule for the year.

The December 22nd one remains extremely tentative. More details on the Full Moon celebration will be forthcoming.

The Hawkwatch days - one a month through the season - are just that: days to go sit on ridge along the Appalachian Trail and watch hawks. Company is welcome and encouraged and so forth. Lunch is bring-yer-own for the mountainside. Any other food - a warm breakfast (highly advised) and a warm meal after (also recommended, especially on the colder days!) - is strictly a matter of whim. These aren't planned feasts on my part. People can meet at my house or at the Bake Oven Knob parking lot. Any other details - or anyone wanting to cater a feast before, during, or after - can be worked out as we go along. There's a pizza place along the return trip, a winery a short distance down the road, and a diner that won't serve french fries for breakfast or home fries and omelets for dinner.

I will add this to memories. This year may not work out.

When things finally break loose for me, job-wise, it will go fast. I am planning to ask my new employer for a month or six weeks to give notice. I have told my current employer I will give two weeks notice, if the right job comes along. If I have that kind of time off, a road trip might be in order.

There are points of interest, on the, er, right coast, thither and yon, for me. Actually, I believe I want to drive in the mountains again...go back to Blacksburg. M is in PA. Nightsky's brother is in Charlottesville.

I don't know.

Will your mother be attending any of these festivities?

Most likely not, as she was down for the August one - but you never know! I'll ask her.

Nov, or Dec. Hawkwatches are possibilities -- so much depends on weather, either driving or flying! But I'd love to be with you all again.

For your costume party, will you really be in mufti or do as you did when you were just barely in teens and didn't want to dress-up but, since you had to take younger bro trick or treating, wanted the treats for which you had to be in costume and so put a dirty cloth in your pocket and went out as a mechanic? ...or was it as a teacher with a pencil and ruler handy?
