Pause

Serenity
is the frail leaf
that slips between the clay
from darkened weight of the Earth
to embrace the light
Stillness
is the cold clear stream
that whirls in eternal eddies
from the clouds in the heavens
to feed springs deep below
Peace
is the promise
that mankind desires and despises
from words that are hollow
to grandeur imagined
Hope
is the blind eye
that sees what it believes
from overwhelming depths of sorrow
to fancy’s fondest glamour
Dream
is the heartbeat
that pulses out of sync
from surroundings that smother
to embrace the light
