I've been looking at my writing and looking at markets for said writing...

I've got 39 pieces of finished work.

Ten of them are non-fiction. I'm not really looking to get them in print, as they have some aspect of time and place in them. Many of them are already available on this blog and a few can be found in Cautionary Fables: Warts & All.

The remaining pieces range from 700 to 14,100 words. Thirteen of them are in Cautionary Fables: Warts & All, and one other, "They Will Come", can be found published on Odin's Gift (along with some of my Norse themed poetry!). Some of those pieces can be found on this blog, and five others can be found here, and thus taken out of circulation ~ at least for purposes of first printings... they are all open and available for reprints!

That makes just three pieces that are viable for sale in a new market ~ and most markets for short fiction are looking for first rights, whether it's online or in print.

Finished Works:

• A Rose for Princess, fairy talish fantasy, 4,200 words ~ needs two editors ~ needs formatted ~ needs markets
• Empress Awakened, classic fantasy, 1,400 words ~ edited ~ needs formatted ~ two markets in mind, plenty of others

In Progress:

• L'Abattoir, pirate steampunk novella, 15,900 words out of maybe 60,000
• Changeling, werewolf, 1,300 words out of ?
• The Last Great Battle, classic fantasy, 1,200 words out of ?
• green man, urban fantasy, 800 words out of 5000 max, for an anthology
• Mad Max, post apocalypse steampunk, 400 words out of ?
• steampunk thing, steampunk (duh!), 0 words out of 4,000-6,000, for an anthology

The idea with posting this update is that I have to keep making progress, moving forward (TM), and I try to keep updating the numbers... we'll see!
