Jul. 18th, 2008 11:09 pmWe had a storm - a cold front, I guess - blast through here the other day. It took down a bunch of trees in the area (none on my property) and hail was reported (again, I didn't see any, but it was close...).
I was able to track down some numbers in this report. We received 4.5 inches in one hour. =)
Yes, the Rachel River runneth over. Defying its normal behavior, it slowed to a trickle a couple hours after the storm. It washed out the barrier our neighbor had to keep the flow away from his house. Remnants of the barrier were found well downstream from my place, washed across the street - the whole road was flooded for a bit - and probably traveled about a thousand feet, give or take a few hundred.
