Bold the statements that are true for you. The list is based on an exercise developed by Will Barratt, Meagan Cahill, Angie Carlen, Minnette Huck, Drew Lurker, Stacy Ploskonka at Illinois State University. Have any relative who is an attorney, physician, or professor
To be fair, it depends how far back you go... and this privileged meme doesn't acknowledge time scale of any sort

Were the same or higher class than your high school teachers I'm weaker on the whole animal classification system than I should be, but I'm fairly sure the Class was the same, considering Species was the same

Had more than 50 books in your childhood home

Had more than 500 books in your childhood home

Were read children's books by a parent

Had lessons of any kind before you turned 18

Had more than two kinds of lessons before you turned 18
karate & guitar come to mind

The people in the media who dress and talk like me are portrayed positively Nope. I'm choosing my own time frame, as I don't generally wear concert shirts and other "heavy metal" type stuff anymore (I do have a few shirts left that haven't fallen apart...), but long haired guitar players of heavy metal are frowned upon by Society. Back in high school - which seems to be the target particpant time frame of this meme - we compared it with the scorn given those who brown-bag their lunch.

Had a credit card with your name on it before you turned 18

Your parents (or a trust) paid for the majority of your college costs

Your parents (or a trust) paid for all of your college costs
Kinda sorta. A parent's employer paid for all of my college costs. Although when I went to electronics tech school, I was the sucker who had to pay my own way.

Went to a private high school

Went to summer camp

Had a private tutor before you turned 18

Family vacations involved staying at hotels

Your clothing was all bought new before you turned 18

Your parents bought you a car that was not a hand-me-down from them

There was original art in your house when you were a child In fact, [livejournal.com profile] patrixa still has one of the pieces I did back in kindergarten, framed and on display. At least I think it's still on display?

Had a phone in your room before you turned 18 Maybe? Don't remember when I got the phone. It was not, however, on its own line.

You and your family lived in a single family house Growing up, we rented out the first floor. Later, I moved down there.

Your parent(s) owned their own house or apartment before you left home

Participated in an SAT/ACT prep course

Had your own TV in your room in high school Why would anyone want one?

Owned a mutual fund or IRA in high school or college I don't recall mutual funds or IRAs being all that popular until after those years. I did own stocks in several companies.

Flew anywhere on a commercial airline before you turned 16

Went on a cruise with your family

Went on more than one cruise with your family

Your parents took you to museums and art galleries as you grew up

You were unaware of how much heating bills were for your family When I was younger, yes, I was unaware of the exact dollar cost. I did know, however, that heat was Exceedingly Expensive, was to be kept down to Approved Levels, and I was to wear More Layers if I was cold. Brillant job on the researcher's part - which is why they still want their names associated with this! - to formulate questions to actually get the answers they're looking for. To reiterate: no clue on the $$$, very much a clue that it was $$$ and not $ or less.
