One Rock Down, Five to Go
May. 2nd, 2007 08:14 pmWe set the first rock on the back bank stairway. We dug out about a foot deep, sifted it, removed the small rocks, and then refilled the hole so it was level and about an inch deep on the bottom side. We set the rock, and then Rachel and I filled around it. Justin had to come over and lift it so I could get some dirt under it. Brandon came over a bit later to help use his little scoop shovel and sprinkle dirt around the edges.
While we were doing that, Justin applied half the fertilizer to the back yard. After everything was put away, we added a half dozen or so smaller rocks to the foundation front border - maybe one or two rocks needed and the kiwi/garage section is done. Amazing, even with the layer of leaves on top of the mulch, it looks much more finished than the porchfront foundation section. We'll do the porch, then start around from the driveway and do the family room/deck section, the deck/kitchen/school room bit, the sidewalk border (opposite of the section we almost completed), and the last bit along the Stone Stream.
