...or something like that.

I took Justin, Rachel, and Brandon to the Kutztown Festival today - we stopped and picked up Mallory at her sister's house, then headed down to Kutztown to meet [livejournal.com profile] kk1raven.

Rachel enjoyed going into more crafts booths than all the rest of us put together - ooo! pottery! ooo! weaving! =)

Other than the Dutch fries, I was the only one who ate traditional food - a sausage sandwich. I had my eye on the German kielbasa next booth down, but at twice the cost, I opted for the more generic variety. This savings helped in the long run - with much lemonade, some orange drink, and birch beer consumed in attempts to stay hydrated. Well, the birch beer was to help wash down the food, but the others were definitely there for safety's sake.

Brandon really enjoyed looking at the cow, horses, bunnies, goats, and sheep - after he melted down (pretty much literally) we cooled off for a bit in the quilt house, but he didn't really settle down until he took Justin back to the horse drawn carousel.

He also got a kick out of the bubble making machine in the antique toy and farm engine display. They had a bunch of old tractors, as well as an assortment of pumps and other powered equipment. One of the highlights for me was seeing the steam engine tractor - hot sun and a shade-needing baby kept me from exploring fully, but maybe next year!

On the ride home, just down the road, I saw a sign announcing an antique tractor show at the West End Fairgrounds next week. Looks like I might have something to do on Saturday!

Sunday, I'll be picking up [livejournal.com profile] kk1raven early in the morning and driving down to the Common Ground on the Hill Music & Arts Festival to listen to fellow Housemate Wayne and his wife Jo (Port Righ) perform.
