We made it to MA safe and sound, and before the alleged blizzard - a light dusting actually, not even the promised 1-3 inches. I watched a giggling
patrixa and Justin play Chinese checkers for a while last night - each of them took 3 colors on the board, and most of the hilarity had to do with trying to determine who went next with which color. Discovered that I didn't bring my cell phone power cord, so I'm saving the last two bars of juice for the ride home.
This morning I had to get some additional coding done on an overdue project, and I discovered that - surprise! - I forgot to bring the power cord for the laptop. Two hours was a limited time to try to complete an unknown amount of coding. Thankfully, I had worked out what I needed to do in my head, and lo and behold, it actually worked. Even managed to get another last minute fix in and FTP'd immediately prior to the forced shutdown.
For lunch, I cooked up some Campeche-Style Baked Red Snappuh (using the propuh Bostonian pronunciation) using Frontera Roasted Peach Salsa borrowed from
granolaflake - we gave her back a little bit so she could taste the results! I liked how this cooked up - Justin liked it better because it was sweeter and had less heat (rated Medium, vs. the Hot of our previous round.) This was sweet - almost barbecue-saucish in a way, but there's chipotle in the ingredients, so the heat has good flavor. From what I can gather from Frontera's site, they don't offer this product anymore, but I may try to see if I can find some.
My mom got a new phone - we're trying to get it set up, so there's some good Three Stooges-type comedy going on. The speakerphone doesn't seem to be overly useful - Rachel wasn't able to hear us at all.
