Book Seven
Mar. 7th, 2005 09:16 amBook #7: Spirits in the Wires by Charles DeLint
Read about three-quarters of this last night - went into Can't Put it Down mode and stayed up a couple of hours later than I had originally intended. Sort of ruined my "one chapter a night" pacing, but I suppose I can rationalize that because there were quite a few nights where I didn't read a single word.
I enjoyed this, but, in some ways, it seemed to similar to some of his other works (especially "The Onion Girl") and also seemed a bit too fixated on modems (who uses those anymore? =). It did have an impact on me, and after last night's completion it stayed with me as I drifted off to sleep. Not the first time one of DeLint's works shaped a night of dreams, indeed not even the first time for this book, but I generally consider it a Good Thing when a book hangs around for a visit after I'm done reading it.
