Make that 0% in the left ear. Zero, zilch, nada. At least at average headphones volume.

And, in little over an hour, I'll be sitting around in a waiting room or in an examination room, and I'll be getting that ear looked at.

Glad you're getting the examination - depending on what's causing the problem it may be entirely fixable.

Seems so. The doc wasn't too worried - no obvious infection, just some inflammation remaining - but just in case, he's got me on some antibiotic ear drops and I'll be starting prednesone (to reduce the inflammation) after I get some blood work done tomorrow (apparently it messes with the results.) That way, I can schedule my regular full physical for a week or two out without running out of my regular meds first!

(I was planning on having that full physical about two weeks ago, but, as you've seen, other things came up!)

I don't think docs show worry unless it's an illness of their own!

glad you got it checked out, though. when you go for a follow-up, ask for a hearing test. also, tell him your mom has a weird ear defect: infantile eustachian tube -- could there be a connection? Otherwise, why so many ear problems? Remember I was an adult when mine was discovered (uncovered?)
