ellyssianI could probably go on an on about the merits of a post with real, actual content, but then I suppose if I did that, this wouldn't be one.
Brandon is king of the mountain right now - he flipped over a lid for a plastic tote, climbed up on it, and stood tall with a big goofy grin on his face. He has been using the lid for a day or so as a place to sit down; now he has, through flipping it over, raised himself to new heights, literally.
Rachel is in the process of going to her first ever, real live, friends-not-family sleep over. Deb dropped Justin off last night at his friends. She'll be picking them up tomorrow and taking them down to her cousin's house for the Kid's Christmas Gift Exchange Party Type Thing. When they come back, they'll be picking up Chinese food for our traditional New Year's Eve dinner.
My Tamson House Secret Santa delivered the other day with Muppety and Dickensian goodness, which is, IMO, even better than chocolate. That tops off my pile o' loot - which includes a laser level, some Christmas and Celtic CDs, and a fairly large piratical nutcracker. Unfortunately, we couldn't really display the nutcracker collection because of a certain toddler and the complete lack of suitable space out of his reach (3-4 miles is probably a safe distance, under most conditions.)

yendi's posts from the other day. I've managed to get in touch with a friend from long ago as well as some more recent aquaintences, one co-worker, and one former co-worker. Okay, that's cheating a bit to mention the last, as Chris is the one who mentioned the site and actually got me over there a bit, so I'm not really out of touch with him...

Saving grace - to prove I'm not completely lost - would be some chocolatey cookies that Deb discovered or invented. She made a batch last week, gave them all away (I did eat one while hot - the center was nearly liquid chocolate!), and she just made another batch today. Actually, highly edible, I must say...
