Cookout Report

Had a great cookout - guests (in order of arrival) were Deb's friend Debbie and her daughter Cierra;
noone234,
kk1raven, my co-worker Rich and our friend Bob, and
pete_wisdom and his mom.
I did a rather simple main course menu: Chipotle Bulls-Eye marinated chicken, Italian sausage, hot dogs, and Bubba burgers. Cierra made a macaroni salad,
noone234 brought chips,
kk1raven made a lemon cake (using 57 whole lemons!*,) Bob made Fluffy Green Stuff, and
pete_wisdom brought a veggie tray and some fresh pineapple and watermelon. Very delicious!
After the meal, we went through the games Bob brought and wound up playing Mississippi Queen with The Black Rose expansion. I really enjoyed the game, and not just because I won! A little while later, we played Clash of the Gladiators - and, despite all that Bob said about never winning a game of it, or even coming close, he did.
Just for the record, the games we *didn't* get to: Master Thieves, Tsuro, Vampire, and Attika - many of the games aren't carried anymore, but that didn't stop me from putting a few on me ol' wish list! =)
Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed the cookout - I know I did.

Although the cookout is done for this month, it's still jam-packed with other things. There's still the Poetry Circle coming up on the 8th at Moravian Bookshop, Celtic Fest on the 22nd-24th (I'll likely be attending on the 23rd,) and HawkFest at Bake Oven Knob on the 24th. (directions)
In addition to all those previously scheduled events, I'll be at the PA Ren Faire on the 16th with the kids, and down in Philly for our client conference on the 17th through 20th all by my lonesome. We actually have one night on our own on the town, so if any Philly folks want to get together, let me know - I think the free time will be Monday, but it might be Tuesday instead. I'll likely have a few clients from out-of-state (very likely to be from Texas, maybe Washington) with me, and cheese steaks or something else traditionally Philly will be likely. I'll post more details when I get them.
Next month, there will be a dinner on October 14th - we're going to do a hawk watch at Bake Oven Knob, and then head back for the house. Menu still isn't solidified, but I'm leaning towards a repeat of fajitas, and, likely, the chorizo quesadillas.
* - I may be exaggerating that slightly, by 56 lemons or so.
