The rain
falls down
so hard
it roars
in pain,
deafening;
smothering
in its agony;
alone
as it streaks
from the sky
like tears;
relenting
for but a moment
before
unleashing
a torrent
of cries;
washing away
its sins;
until,
in hushed
repentance,
it withdraws.
