Joanne Shaw Taylor - Time has Come
Oct. 3rd, 2009 11:36 amIf you haven't been amazed by Joanne Shaw Taylor yet (i.e. you haven't watched the video clips from the past couple of days or haven't already listened to her sing and play), you need to start here.
Of course, if you don't like the blues, if you think, say, Stevie Ray Vaughan was an incompetent musician who couldn't catch the blues if he aimed a can of blue spray paint at himself, well, then you're not going to be impressed by Joanne.
If, however, you think the sound of a Telecaster with a clean setting, some bendy strings and a vibrato that will bring tears to your eyes, combined with a smokey, sultry voice is a good thing... or if you think that there's only one movie that deserves the name Crossroads
and you agree that Muddy Waters invented electricity...
...well, then, what are you waiting for?
Seriously, give this a listen... you can thank me ~ and Joanne, by picking up a copy or three of her album, or a handful of MP3s ~ by making with the clicky: the tune is Time Has Come
from White Sugar
. =)
