Well, here is the video of the day from Friday - bit late, but there you have it!

I first heard this tune on a pull-out 45rpm SoundPage in Guitar Player magazine, used as an advertisement for the variety of sounds a Carvin speaker was capable of reproducing.

Steve later included it on his album Passion and Warfare, here is Blue Powder:

Okay, so here was the video planned for today. It's quite possibly NSFW; then again, when I worked in an office no video was safe on account of streaming was pretty much a bandwidth no-no.

After Steve Vai spent his time with Whitesnake (which was after the David Lee Roth band) and after his own solo release - as linked to in the previous video - Steve decided he wanted to do more of a band thing. Still, it was very much a Steve thing, so the band's name was Vai.

The other members of the band were Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Band) took lead vocals, T.M. Stevens (Billy Squier, Billy Joel, James Brown, Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Taylor Dayne, Little Steven, Cyndi Lauper, 2Pac, Narada Michael Walden, and The Pretenders; to name a few) played bass, and Terry Bozio (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Jeff Beck, KoRn).

This video is an intense, 'arrowing experience - progressive, but much heavier than most of what I post, hence I have it relegated to a Saturday night...

It starts with a scream...

Under a cut due to NSFW stuff.. )

-- From the album Sex & Religion, the song is also available as an MP3
