New And Improved, Now With Dangly Bits!

Dangly Bits
Sure, the truck needs a bath, but the OnSpot automatic tire chain system is brand new! =)

It was installed by the folks over at Kovatch in Nesquehoning.

LNE Trailhead & Lot
Here's the top of the hill, right at the LNE trail head. The road drops down to the left. After the last ice storm, the plow reached the brush on the right before I started to slide backwards.

Thought This Was Flatter
This is the area I slid back from, down to the left, with the front end swinging toward the camera. After 30 minutes or so, I managed to get the front end away from the camera, the side of the truck almost off the road straight ahead. Another 15 minutes or so and I managed to pull up to the LNE gate on the distant right. When I backed across, the front end swung down and to the left; I dropped the plow and made my way down as slowly as possible.

The Inspiration
And this is the big inspiration for getting the OnSpot system installed. Last season, I had some trouble down near the bottom; this time it was at the top. For a half hour or so, I thought I was going backwards, all the way down.

These shots were taken after climbing to the top and before plowing. The OnSpot system worked perfectly, and the traction was never in question.
