dry as desert
dry as dust
the earth thirsts
and is left wanting

towering giants
toppling
so hard to stand tall
when your feet are cut off

whispering promises
whispering progress
the leaders show true colors
and point their fingers in blame

towering gnats
toppling
swollen heads filled with lead
left behind so they can fly

unwavering in their intent
unwavering in their insanity
the earth trembles
and is left wondering

towering giants
toppling
grind their bones
to feed our appetite

black as death
black as plague
the earth dries
and we are left behind
